Getting Started! -- Build Your Facebook Fan Page / Group Page
How to Build A Facebook Page - Starting With The Basics
You will get to select what type of business you are from the menu, then agree that you are authorized to represent the business with your facebook fan page.
Now Its time to create the page
STEP 1
First of all, you will want to get your basic business (or group) info in there. Click "edit the page" - scroll down to the information section. Click on the pencil icon "edit". Not a lot of space to be creative yet. Here you will simply enter your website, address, and hours you are open. That's about it.

Now its time for a snazzy Facebook profile image! You can use your logo, but if your logo is a little boring and/or corporate, I would really not recommend it. I suggest you choose an image that represents your company, product or service and is also exciting and eye catching. How to Create A Custom Facebook URL and Username
This Facebook fan page trick will allow you to have a Facebook.com/username Domain!
This is very simple!

How to Create A Welcome Page And Tabs
For Your Facebook Page
Creating a custom landing page for your Facebook group is not as difficult as you might think!
Here is how you do it:
1. Log in to your Facebook account and do a Search for TAB Press (Static FBML boxes no longer work!)
2. Click on the link "Add to My Page" & Select the page. (this is found in the bottom left hand side of the page)
Now you will need to create the content for your Tabs/Welcome screen
1. Use Photo-shop or a similar application to create an image with width of 520px (the height does not matter)
2. Create a folder name FB on your server & upload the image in that folder. You can also use photobucket or an online file hosting service (you will just need a URL for your image)
3. Navigate to your fan page & click on the "Edit Page" tab below the Fan Page's Profile Image.
4. Locate your Tab application & click on Edit.
5. You can create a page for your fans and one for your "non-fans"
If you want to add a link to the image just add the following code
src ="http://yourwebsite.com/FB/imagename.jpg">
If you would like you can also use text after the image with HTML tags like h1, h2,, etc or use any other HTML you like.
6. When you are done click on save changes - navigate to your Fan Page and you will see a new tab with the title you wrote.

What size should I make my Facebook profile picture?
The Perfect Profile Image
Facebook recommends that you make your profile pic just200px wide, (and the height can vary). However there is also a thumbnail that Facebook uses across the system which is generated from your profile picture - and you want to make sure you optimize for that as well.Facebook will crop your image when generating the thumbnail -- so if you are not careful you might loose some of your information around the edge of your picture. After some simple testing, I have determined that there is a "Safe" area within all images. When you create your profile image that's 200px wide, leave a 12 pixel border around your important information (such as text or your logo).

Twitter Integration
Facebook offers an integration feature with Twitter - If you have a twitter account you can set the two social media sites to talk to each other. When you post from one it will auto post to the other. -- This will help you to draw more fans to your page from your twitter following.
Add the Facebook Widgets to Your Blog &/or Website
Make sure your website and blog readers can easily find your fan page with a like button or facebook widget. Create an FBML Landing Page
There is some discussion about weather a FBML Landing page is better than landing visitors on your "wall". Either way it is a good option and nice to have up your sleeve. Make Frequent Updates
The more you post to your wall (questions, polls, funny jokes etc...) the more people will see and be exposed to your page. Getting people to interact on your facebook fan page wall will keep you showing up in their news feed and more of your users friends will also see your page.
No Spam!
People dont want to get spammy or overly promotional offers in their news feed. Find ways to be creative and offer value to your users. For example; a special deal or promo code will look much better than a post that says "Jeans are on sale"... Use promotions and deals sparingly - getting people involved in meaningful conversations on your facebook fan page wall will do more for your business than you can imagine!

Note: SORRY - Facebook keeps changing things on us.. This little trick may not work for you now... :( but ill leave it up just in case...Here is what you do:
1. Go to your facebook page and select "Invite People".
2. When your page is loaded you should see a list of all of your friends, but they will not be selected.
3. Copy and paste the javascript code below into your browser address bar, then hit "Enter".
4. If everything works well, this will select all of your friends!
5. IMPORTANT: NOW YOU NEED TO WAIT!! Especially If you have a lot of friends, you have to leave that window open for a long time so it sends all of the invitations! I have about 1,400 and it took like 15-20 minutes to send all of the invitations. The Invite window will close when its done. So exercise patience!!!!!!!!!!

- Hi my name is "jessica from Kenya" just want to share my experience with the world on how i got my love back and saved my marriage... I was married for 7years with 2kids and we lived happily until things started getting ugly and we had fights and arguments almost every time... it got worse at a point that he filed for divorce... I tried my best to make him change his mind & stay with me cause i loved him with all my heart and didn't want to loose him but everything just didn't work out... he moved out of the house and still went ahead to file for divorce... - I need some help: I am the admin of two different pages. One sports related and one music. I have some problems due to status update / sharing links /events on my music page - i.e. these updates/shares does not appear on my (or fans) Home/News feed. There is no similar problems on the sports related page (which is 5 years old) I created the music page in june 2012.
I have tried to investigate and contacted Facebook several times, but haven´t heard something. Anyone who can help??

I know URL can be claimed
1. If its your first page or
2. after 25 likes
I have a client I created the page for them but I can not claim URL as its nt my first page. Now if I add 25 Likes to it, Can I still transfer the page as we do normally (adding them as admin and then removing me etc)?
Or I should ask the to create the page so that they can claim it as its their first page (it also needs mobile phone verification when I try to claim the URL)

- As a writer I have an FB page. I am struggling to do some very basic things.
1. How do I contact, or interact with people who Like my page? I can find a list of Likes but when I visit I cannot Like them back, cannot post a message - zilch. I understand people may have settings in place to block this but why should they if they like someone in the first place?
2. In this article I saw a FB 'snapshot' of items such as Marketing, Tell Your Fans and lots of other links. I cannot find anything like that on my FB page.

- When I "Like" or "Recommend" a story/editorial from a website, How do I get it to post to my business page rather than my personal profile page? I've tried using the admin panel and switch to using Facebook as my business page... but when I try to "Like" or "Recommend" a story from a website, Facebook wants me to switch back to my personal profile before letting me post the story... thus, I cannot post to my business page. HELP!
